Powering the Future: Discover Our Energy-Efficient New Build Homes
When you move into one of our SJ Roberts homes, you could save over £3,100 per year*
Discover how SJ Roberts’ new build homes offer more space, natural light, and energy efficiency for you and your family while reducing your household bills and carbon emissions compared to older homes, making them the perfect choice for those looking to save money and protect the environment.
Embrace Lower Energy Bills with Our Homes
New build homes are typically designed to be more energy-efficient and built to meet current building regulations, resulting in higher EPC ratings compared to older properties. A higher EPC rating not only means that the property is more energy-efficient but can also lead to lower energy bills for the homeowner. The materials used, as well as the design, layout, and heating and ventilation systems, all contribute to a property’s EPC rating.
85% of new build homes have an A or B rating, while less than 4% of existing dwellings reached the same energy efficiency standard.*
Our homes are rated B on the Energy Performance Certificates scale, which ranges from A (very energy efficient) to G (very inefficient).

The Worcester Greenstar
With its wide power range and improved modulation, this boiler offers increased efficiency, reducing gas consumption and lowering energy bills. The innovative ‘Quick Tap’ water saving function minimises water waste with a quick open and close mechanism for the hot tap. Additionally, it features wireless connectivity with the Bosch EasyControl system, allowing you to control your hot water and heating from anywhere. The combi boiler operates extremely well in low water pressure areas, ensuring powerful and warm showers. Notably, it is recognised as one of the quietest combi boilers available, providing a peaceful living environment, making it an excellent choice for a comfortable and sustainable heating and hot water system.
Reduced water usage
Our homes are specifically designed to limit water consumption to just 110 liters per person per day, a considerable reduction compared to the average usage of 140 litres. This conscientious design not only contributes to the protection of the environment but it could benefit you financially.

Building your home
We prioritise the future of your home in our design process. We carefully consider every aspect, incorporating optimal layouts and selecting materials and products that effectively retain heat. Our approach encompasses a range of energy-efficient features such as superior insulation, high-specification doors and windows, efficient boilers, improved air tightness, and energy-saving lighting.
With brand-new appliances in every SJ Roberts home, you’re guaranteed the highest electricity efficiency and significant savings compared to older properties with outdated appliances. Plus, all our homes include energy-efficient light bulbs, and double-glazed windows as part of the standard specification.
Rather than solely focusing on the final product, we consistently strive to incorporate energy-efficient practices and materials at every stage, ensuring that sustainability is integrated seamlessly throughout.
The benefits of building homes using timber frames
All our new homes are built with timber frames as this method of building has proven to have fewer defects and higher customer satisfaction. In addition, it is the most environmentally sustainable way to build new homes, also delivering enhanced thermal properties and reducing heating costs.

Environmentally friendly
Timber frames are a sustainable and renewable building material, as wood is a natural resource that can be replenished.
Speed of construction
Timber frames can be pre-fabricated off-site and then assembled quickly on-site, saving time and money in the construction process. This means that homes can be built more efficiently and with less waste.
Energy efficiency
Timber frames are excellent insulators, meaning they can help to reduce energy bills and improve a home’s energy efficiency. The wood used in timber frames is a natural insulator that provides thermal protection, helping to keep heat in during the winter and out during the summer.
Part of the SJ Roberts Group for over twenty years, Lowfield Timber Frames is a UK-based company that specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of timber frame buildings. The company uses high-quality, sustainably sourced timber to create energy-efficient and eco-friendly homes.
